The Author: My name is Elizabeth Kipps. I am 24 years old and live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where I was born and raised. I love my Chicago Cubs, New Market Rebels and baseball in general.

The Blog: One day several years ago, I found myself wearied by all the mean-spirited Cubs blogs written by cranky middle aged men who, seemingly, hate with the passion of a thousand burning suns the very team they claim to support . I decided to do something about it, and the Fair Base Ballist was born.
The purpose of this blog has always been to provide fresh, polite and palatable insight on the Chicago Cubs, and baseball as a whole, along with healthy doses of nonsense every now and then.
I routinely fall short of my own standards, but don’t hold it against me. I try. And as we all learned in tee-ball, that’s what counts.
